Resurrection: by Nicole Sponberg
I'm at a loss for words, there's nothing to say
I sit in silence wondering what led me to this place
How did my heart become so lifeless and cold?
Where did the passion go?
When all my efforts seem like chasing the wind
I've used up all my strength and there's nothing left to give
I've lost the feeling and I'm numb to the core
I can't fake it anymore.
[chorus:]
Here I am at the end, I'm in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell and raise it from the dead
What I've lost to the world, what seems far beyond redemption
You can take the pieces in Your hand and make me whole again, again
You speak and all creation falls to its knees
You raise Your hand and calm the waves of the raging sea
You have a way of turning winter to spring
Make something beautiful out of all this suffering
[chorus 2:]
Here I am once again, I'm in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell and raise it from the dead
What I've lost to the world, what seems far beyond redemption
You can take the pieces in Your hand and make me whole again, again
You have a way of turning winter to spring
Make something beautiful out of all this suffering
Here I am once again, I'm in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell and raise it from the dead
I sit in silence wondering what led me to this place
How did my heart become so lifeless and cold?
Where did the passion go?
When all my efforts seem like chasing the wind
I've used up all my strength and there's nothing left to give
I've lost the feeling and I'm numb to the core
I can't fake it anymore.

I don't write very often and I've not experienced the life altering violation you have, but because we have spoken and can relate to one another's grief or should I say griefs, I had to comment and not do it annonymously. I hope you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteFirst, that song really spoke to me and described me too.
"Here I am once again, I'm in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell and raise it from the dead"
There are so many kinds of death, so many kinds of grief and yet death is death and grief is grief.
I have asked you "how long will this grieving go on"......you were unable to answer because yours too, continues.
Although I wish none of this had happened to you..it IS a blessing to know I can talk to someone without being judged. You know ( at least I hope you know) you can talk to me as well with no fear of judgement.
You have always been that kind of friend. A "true" one. God takes all things and turns them around for the good of those that love Him and are the called to His purpose.
I know you have wondered what good could possibly come from all this pain, as I have, from the pains I have suffered over the years (too), culminating in the death of my spouse. For you there was more than one death that has affected you for so many years.
We both feel as if something was stolen from us and we desire restoration.
Our God is a God of healing. There IS purpose in our pain. What? I don't know. I DO know this. You have helped me so much. The fact that you can be so compassionate HAS to come from the pain you have suffered, bringing some value to that pain. As crazy as that sounds, it's true.
I love you my friend
